Planned Parenthood Image Campaign
PROBLEM
To create a campaign for the non-profit, Planned Parenthood, that addressed a current issue, while attempting to remove a certain stigma from this very liberal organization.
PROCESS
A logical step to take was to tackle the current congressional issue of not providing contraception for the female members of the military. This campaign would be conservative enough to appeal to military supporters, while staying true to some of Planned Parenthood’s in-your-face tactics.
SOLUTION
We researched the topic and thought of a way to use a common staple of letterwriting to Congress with ads to promote it. We chose to make it more interesting by designing condom wrappers that would be given away at Planned Parenthood locations, and after used, the wrappers would be sent in to Congress with a prewritten letter, found on the website, that would explain why the policy should change. To round this out, we created a poster campaign that combined military visual language with birth control; fusing military regalia with contraception.
